In evidence to the Commons education committee this morning, Gavin Williamson, the education secretary, complained that too many schools are still closing early. This is from the Mail’s Jack Maidment.
Most striking thing from Gavin Williamson’s appearance @CommonsEd is him saying some schools ‘currently close far too early’.
He said he is ‘very concerned’ some schools send pupils home at 2.45pm/3pm and he hinted at a crackdown as he said ‘I don’t want to see that continue’.
PMQs will be starting in 10 minutes.
