Covid vaccines for children under five are almost in Australia. Here’s what parents need to know

As cases remain high, the expansion of vaccines to young kids and infants will be a welcome relief to many parents

Covid vaccines for children as young as six months look set to be available in the coming months, now that the Therapeutic Goods Administration has approved the Moderna vaccine for babies and young children.

The vaccine has been approved for children aged six months to five years. However, we need to wait for advice from the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation to provide further scientific advice and recommendations around an immunisation program. Given no vaccines are currently manufactured in Australia, we will also need to wait for supply availability before the program can commence.
