The Victorian premier, Daniel Andrews, announced a statewide lockdown from Saturday 21 August which extended the rules that applied to Melbourne – except for the evening curfews – across the entire state.
Andrews announced on 29 August that the lockdown, initially scheduled to end on 2 September, would be extended. The curfew applies to Melbourne from 9pm to 5am every day.
