The NSW premier, Gladys Berejiklian, has announced the two-week lockdown for greater Sydney, the Central Coast, Blue Mountains and Wollongong will be extended, which will see it run for an extra week until midnight on Friday, 16 July.
The government also announced that students in greater Sydney, the Central Coast, Blue Mountains and Wollongong will do a week of remote schooling from 13 July, while students in regional areas will go back to school.
