Hurricane Ida made landfall near Port Fourchon, Louisiana, early Sunday afternoon as a Category 4 hurricane with winds of 150 mph. Hurricane conditions are spreading inland across southeast Louisiana. A tornado watch is in effect for parts of Alabama, Florida, Louisiana and Mississippi. There is also a danger of life-threatening storm surge in areas along the coasts of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama. Residents are urged to remain indoors and be prepared to shelter in place.
