Where did Australia’s first cases of the Delta variant come from and how infectious is it?

Two members of a West Melbourne family who visited New South Wales last month before testing positive for Covid-19 have been found to have the Delta variant of Covid-19.

It’s the first time the variant – first identified in India – has been found in the community in Australia.
