Crowds have been barred from the Australian Open as Melbourne begins a hard five-day lockdown in response to the Holiday Inn Covid-19 cluster.
Fans at Melbourne Park were ushered towards the exits at 11.30pm AEDT to comply with the new tough measures, which came into force at 11.59pm and mandate the entire state enters stage 4 lockdown.
