Japan tourism expo returns with fewer visitors, but sector remains upbeat as travel curbs ease

Tourism Expo Japan, which was cancelled in 2021, returned this year with 122,000 visitors, a far cry from a peak of over 200,000 in its 2018 edition. But low visitor numbers did not keep exhibitors from eagerly promoting destinations to Japanese travellers.
