CDC Foundation’s New Business Pulse Focuses on Reducing Tobacco Use – Media Advisory

Business Pulse: Tobacco Useexternal icon, launched today by the CDC Foundation, focuses on how employers can improve employee health by reducing tobacco use and exposure to secondhand smoke. Business Pulse: Tobacco Use also features an interactive infographic with facts to help employers protect and promote the health of all workers and a link to online CDC resources.

Smoking hurts the U.S. economy, costing more than $300 billion annually in direct medical care and lost productivity, including $5.6 billion a year in productivity losses from exposure to secondhand smoke. However, there are practical steps businesses can take to protect workers’ health along with overall business health.
