Categorising cases helps to curb spread of COVID-19 more effectively: Medical expert
One medical expert said categorising COVID-19 cases helps to curb the spread of the virus more effectively. Singapore has four categories: Imported cases, community cases, migrant workers residing in dormitories and those living outside of dormitories. According to Professor Ooi Eng Eong from the Duke-NUS Medical School, defining clusters of transmission can help the authorities understand what drives transmissions in the clusters. This will help them to devise more cost-effective tools or approaches to prevent virus transmission and new cases.
