Commandos win Best Combat Unit for 17th straight year

The commandos have won the Best Combat Unit award for the 17th straight year. It's the 34th time they have clinched the title since the SAF Best Unit Competition was introduced in 1969. State Colours will be presented to them on July 1 at the decentralised SAF Day ceremony, which will be streamed live from SAFTI Military Institute. The 143 Squadron won Best Fighter Squadron. One of its highlights in 2019 was responding quickly to a bomb threat on Singapore Airlines flight SQ423 and escorting it to land safely.
