COVID-19: A muted start to Ramadan as Malaysia extends nationwide lockdown
On April 24, Malaysia kicked off Ramadan with a muted start, a day after the government extended a partial lockdown to mid-May. Authorities had banned Ramadan bazaars, and only food delivery services are available. Malaysia has almost 5,700 COVID-19 cases and 96 deaths.
