COVID-19: Closure of wholesale markets in Malaysia raises supply disruption concerns
There are concerns of a disruption in the supply of fresh produce to Kuala Lumpur. Several wholesale markets just outside the Malaysian capital have been closed due to a series of COVID-19 cases. Massive sanitisation operation is underway at the market in Selayang, which serves as the main distribution hub for fresh produce from farmers up at Cameron Highlands to fishermen from coastal states. It will be shut for four days, while the surrounding housing estates are under complete lockdown until May 3.
