COVID-19: Singapore community shows support for migrant workers as Ramadan begins

Many in the local community have stepped up to support migrant workers housed at the "Diamond Block" in Taman Jurong. On April 24, they packed new clothes and a meal for the workers to mark the first breaking of fast during Ramadan. Senior Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam, who is also MP of Jurong GRC, said many of the migrant workers are Muslim and broke fast in their own rooms. The blocks house a group of healthy employees who are working mainly in essential services.
