Household electricity consumption up 22% in May due to circuit breaker, warmer weather



According to the Energy Market Authority and SP Group, household electricity consumption in Singapore rose by an average of 22% in May during the circuit breaker period, compared to a quarter ago in February. However, total electricity consumption fell by 11% in May compared to the same period in 2019 — driven by a dip in demand from the commercial and industrial sectors.
