Legislation to cap commission fees of delivery apps has to be carefully considered: Chee Hong Tat



In Parliament on May 4, one MP asked if legislation will be considered to enable restaurants to pay lower commissions to third-party food delivery companies during the COVID-19 circuit breaker. Senior Minister of State for Trade and Industry, Chee Hong Tat said this needs to be carefully considered. He added that one important factor is that there are alternative options available to food services businesses and consumers if they do not wish to go through the food delivery companies.
