Lion City Sailors launch million-dollar scholarship programme for young footballers

Local football side Lion City Sailors FC have started a million-dollar scholarship programme for young footballers. The programme, which includes nutritionists, sports psychologists and video analysts, is modelled after the academies of top professional clubs in Europe. To start, Lion City Sailors is targeting 25 12-year-olds. The money will be spent over four years and covers training, insurance and apparel. Selection will take place after the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.
