Repeat mosquito-breeding offenders to face heavier penalties from July 15: NEA
Heavier fines will soon be imposed on households found with repeated mosquito breeding offences. Currently, households where mosquito breeding has been detected face a composition fine of S$200. Under the revised penalties, the sum will be increased to S$300 for those found with multiple breeding habitats, or where breeding is present even after legal notice has been served. Those on their third and subsequent offences will be sent to court, where they face a fine of up to S$5,000, or imprisonment not exceeding three months, or both.
