Singapore private home prices down 1% in Q1 2020

Fewer homes were sold in Singapore during Q1 2020 amid the COVID-19 pandemic. Resale flat transactions fell about 7%. Meanwhile, sales of private properties plunged 12%, reversing three consecutive quarters of growth. Official data also showed retail and office rentals slipping on the back of the pandemic by up to 2.3%. The bruising effects on the entire property market are likely to continue in the coming months, with market watchers expecting numbers to plummet across all segments.
