Singapore retains top spot in global competitiveness rankings for second year running
Singapore has maintained its top spot in the global competitiveness rankings for the second year running. The rankings attributed the country's success to its robust international trade and investment, employment and labour market measures. Trade tensions between the US and China have affected their rankings. The US dropped further to 10th in the list, after losing its top spot in 2018. Meanwhile, China has slipped from 14th to 20th place.
