Singapore sees highest number of dengue cases in first five months of the year since 2013: NEA
The total number of dengue cases since the start of the year (2020) has passed 10,000. More than 870 cases were reported in the week ending June 6. The National Environment Agency (NEA) said the number of cases recorded in the first five months of the year is the highest since 2013. It added that there was a five-fold jump in the incidence of Aedes mosquito larvae in homes and corridors in residential areas during the COVID-19 circuit breaker period. The traditional peak dengue season is set to last until October.
