Lockdown declared word of the year after sharp rise in usage
2020 is a year that will be remembered as the year our lives were stopped in motion by the pandemic of COVID-19. It's not JUST every facet of our lives that have been affected – – how we speak and the words we use – – have also changed. With that in mind, it's no suprise that Collins Dictionary has choosen — Lockdown as its word of the year
