‘Not a tracking device’: Singapore authorities clarify details about COVID-19 contact tracing token
The portable contact tracing device being developed by the Singapore Government is “not a tracking device”, Minister-in-charge of the Smart Nation initiative Vivian Balakrishnan said on Monday (Jun 8). Speaking at a news conference, he said there will be no GPS chip and any Internet or mobile phone connectivity and any data captured will only be seen by a close number of contact tracers should the user contract COVID-19.
