Cui Shuxia started live-streaming on May 24, 2020, from China’s northwestern province of Shaanxi as a way of boosting sales of her fruit amid the Covid-19 pandemic, only to attract millions of views and plenty of orders from customers drawn to her sincere sales pitches.
