Two women who arrived from the United Kingdom on June 7 later tested positive for the disease, ending the South Pacific nation’s streak of more than 24 days with no new infections. Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern said on June 8 that transmission of the virus had been eliminated in New Zealand.
