Myanmar: Security situation

New Zealand is monitoring recent developments in Myanmar closely.

The Myanmar Military have declared a one-year state of emergency. Phone and internet connections across Myanmar have experienced disruptions and banks have been closed nationwide.

An 8pm to 6am (local time) curfew has been imposed across the country. Expect an increased security presence country-wide and possibly roadblocks in major cities.
